On this excursion, Chef Eyal takes us on a tour of the Hatikva market looking at some of the dishes we will be learning on the course - from the Burekas that Zoe will be teaching us in module 1, to the Kibbe Tomer will be sharing in module 2. After the Hatikva market, Eyal will move on to the Levinsky market known for its many spices and herbs.
Founded in 1909, Tel Aviv is a young city in an even younger country, and it has seen many waves of immigration bring different cultures and cuisines to the proverbial table. Nowhere can these different cultures be seen intermingling more than in the markets of Tel Aviv-Yafo.
From Greece to Iraq, the Balkans to Morocco, and of course the Arabic groups from across the fertile crescent - all of the cuisines of these different peoples can be seen in the many food carts, market stalls and specialist retailers.
Watch to learn a little about the bounty of produce on offer, and how the differing climates across the country are all on show in the delicious dishes and treats that fill the market stalls.
