Visit a classic Filipino panaderia
What we're covering

Gene gives you a taste of the old-world Philippines with a visit to his family bakery which is brimming with delicious treats. This Spanish-era bakery is part of the remaining legacy from the Spanish colonial period in the Philippines which brought different dietary preferences and baking techniques. Some of the classic heirloom recipes include ensaymada cheese buns and the crusty bread roll, pan de sal, which many Filipinos have fond memories of enjoying fresh from their local neighbourhood panaderias (bakeries).
